Inquire is not available in Excel for Mac at all. It is one of the many features of Excel that are Windows only. Inquire is one of many power tools for which Mac users have asked Microsoft to deliver.
FileName Lister Add-in for Excel 2016 for the Mac. FileName Lister is a user friendly way to get a list of file names into a new Workbook. In this add-in you have a option to list the file types you want and you can also filter on the file names. Another option is to create hyperlinks so it is easy to open the files. Re: Enabling Macros for Mac Users Not sure if this helps but, I have a Mac too and use Excel 2011. To activate the development tab (and therefore see the Macros), you need to go to Excel/Preferences/Ribbon and then check the box for development.
Microsoft put the request 'under review' November 15, 2015. It's status is unchanged since that date.
