Their conversations were upsetting because it seems that they are speaking different languages. The aunt was awful enough, but since the hero didn’t sleep with her and he didn’t want to marry her either, I wonder why he was always dating her and even taking her to his mother… meh. The second part was so uninteresting that it took me several attempts before I could finish it. She wanted to steal her evil auntie’s man but how? Without having sex and marrying and without even being charming (she’s always very childish and unstable in her behavior) The heroine was a brainless and shallow creature, it’s difficult to understand what a man of 39, a writer, found in a girl like her- beside her young body. The hero eventually finds her and declares his love but I was so bored at this point that I didn’t really care what happened to those two.Īs I said, the book had potential but it was wasted. The heroine doesn’t know what to do, she wants to go to him but then she finds out she’s pregnant and doesn’t want to force him so she goes back to her uncle and does the only thing she is able to do: nothing. This was a silly and unpleasant twist because the man until that moment had behaved very sensibly and patiently with her, so why this turnabout? He tries to persuade her to give their marriage a chance, he has sex with her ( very unsatisfactory for her) he even introduces her to his mother and sister.īut eventually, when the heroine gives up and understands she’s in love with him, when they have a very good sex and she’s so satisfied even on that side,he leaves her because he knows she doesn’t love him and he made a mistake.Įven if she tells him she wants to stay with him, he leaves and simply disappears. She doesn’t know what she wants, she doesn’t know how she feels about the hero, she is passive in every situation. They have a fake marriage even if the hero is attracted to her.įrom this point the book is boring: the heroine is a naive, uninteresting creature who is not even able to know what her name is. At this point the heroine understands that she’s no more in control of the situation but she is unable to react. Her vicariously uncle finds them in bed together and the hero proposes.
She doesn’t even know how to entice him and the man falls for her though! This should have been interesting, but the heroine is clueless and utterly naive. She decides to have her revenge and to seduce the hero and hurt her aunt. The aunt is an actress who years ago stole her father, and this caused a domino effect because her father died, her mother died of a broken heart and she was left alone with a distant uncle vicar, in a remote village. The book has a good beginning, the hero is the current boyfriend of the heroine’s aunt. She doe I’m generous today so it’s 3 stars.
